So I just went on the most frustrating bike ride ever. I recently got my mother’s old 1970’s Rampar road bike fixed up and have been riding around the neighborhood. I don’t know if it’s because I’m a complete noob when it comes to road bikes, but there’s these cracks across the whole road, every 3-6 feet and I feel like someone is literally just hitting my bike when I go over them. I know that the thinner tires don’t give you as much of a buffer compared to a mountain bike nor is there a real shock absorber, but honestly, those cracks aren’t all huge. Not only that but my bike is really noisy for some reason, almost like its in between gears, even when I’m pedaling and even after I’ve made sure it clicked into place. I just don’t know. I was really excited to be able to bike around the circle and get better, but I’m honestly so frustrated right now that I want to trash my bike and give up…
I’m really thinking about making some videos on youtube, you know, starting up a vegan channel. It really would be for myself, as so many people do on here. I just feel like I need some accountability and something to get me back on track to where I want to be. I don’t know when I’ll try and make the first video, but any tips you video-makers have for video number 1 would be amazing.
I also think it would get me out of the house since I really don’t want to have my parents asking why I’m talking to myself all the time, so maybe hiking and biking and general road trips will be in my future. However I will still have to decide if I’m going to show my face. Very anxious about judgement etc.
So as much as I don’t like taking supplements, I’ve been back to taking vitamin D (2 not 3) because I had been so low during the winter, and was even low during this summer because I don’t go outside much. I hope to be off it soon, but it does seem to be really making a difference in my mood. I just also need to get over my anxiety of going outside, even to my front porch to soak up some sun before summer is over.
Luckily I’m fixing up my mom’s old road bike and I can already tell I’m going to get a lot of miles on it.
I’m planning on shopping at Aldis for some fruit. They had really nice sales last week like 3lbs of oranges for 1.49 which is amazing because everywhere else they’re 3.99 for 3lbs. I just hope all the fruit will be of good quality. Because then I’ll be able to afford so much more fruit!
I had a banana smoothie with cilantro and kale for breakfast! So much easier to drink with a bit of greens!
